Ruth M. Tyson, 70, of Pottsville, died Friday morning at her home.
Born in Pottsville, July 8, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Catherine Brahler Haldeman.
She was a 1956 graduate of Catherine McAuley High School, Brooklyn, N.Y. On April 12, 1958, she married Francis Tyson. Until retiring in 1998 she was employed as a nurse’s aide for Schuylkill Manor and formerly Rest Haven.
She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a twin sister, Mary Jane Buggy, who died in 1997.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 48 years, are a daughter, Mary Ellen Aderhold, wife of Archie, Pottsville; three sons, Michael, husband of Elizabeth, Pottsville, Kevin and his fiancee, Karen Koo, Lancaster, and Brian, husband of Cindy, Orwigsburg; seven grandchildren, Jaime, wife of Brad Miller, Brenda, wife of Andrew Graham, Johnathon Aderhold, Ashley Tyson, Jeffrey Aderhold, Brian Tyson and Casey Tyson; three great-grandchildren, Jaysen Graham, Bryce Graham and Caitlin Miller; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick Church. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church. Interment will be private, held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pinnacle Health Hospice, 301 One Norwegian Plaza, Pottsville, PA 17901.
